Midas 28 is a software company in Brisbane. We write our own apps rather than building to order, we publish them ourselves, and we are still the ones maintaining them a year later.
We build our own products instead of billing hours against someone else's.
The interface, the server, the data, the release build. All of it written in house, which means there is nobody to hand the bug to.
Releases go out under the company's own App Store and Google Play accounts, never a client's. Updates, crash reports and the support email all come back to us.
The code we reuse between projects belongs to Athena 28 Pty Ltd, another company in the group, and is licensed to us.
Three decisions that rule out a good deal of work before it ever reaches us.
Fewer people, fewer meetings, faster releases. It also means the person who broke something is the person who fixes it.
The code, the designs and the store accounts belong to the company. We still depend on Apple and Google like everybody does, but not on a partner who could walk off with the product.
We expect to still be maintaining these apps in ten years, which rules out a lot of shortcuts that look cheap in the first month.
Midas 28 Pty Ltd is the first trading company in the Rootstock 28 group, incorporated in Queensland on 28 August 2026. Rootstock 28 Pty Ltd holds the shares.
Athena 28 Pty Ltd owns the group's intellectual property and licenses it to the companies that trade. The split is deliberate: the company carrying the commercial risk is not the company that owns the code.
